Terms of Service

Welcome to BudgetBites. Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using our website and application. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 18 years of age to use this service. When you create an account with us, you are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and maintain full responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.

2. Subscriptions, Renewal, and Billing

BudgetBites offers both monthly and annual subscription plans:

  • Automatic Renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless canceled prior to the renewal date.
  • Billing: Payments are processed securely via Stripe. You authorize us to charge your selected payment method for the recurring fee.
  • Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time through the Billing Portal in your Account settings. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to your plan benefits until the end of your current paid billing period.
  • Refunds: Payments are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or decided at the sole discretion of our billing support team.

3. Medical & Health Disclaimer

BudgetBites is not a medical organization or clinical provider. Plan suggestions are for informational and budgetary purposes only.

Our generated meal plans are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you have severe food allergies, dietary medical conditions (such as diabetes, gout, kidney disease), or are pregnant, you must consult a clinical professional before adopting any plan.

You are solely responsible for inspecting ingredients and packaging labels at the retail store to verify allergen and cross-contact safety.

4. Service Limitations, Freshness, and AI

Our service utilizes live grocery pricing and artificial intelligence to design budget-friendly plans:

  • AI-Generated Content: Meal plans are generated using third-party artificial intelligence models. While we apply rules to ensure cost and nutritional sanity, AI recommendations may occasionally be imperfect. Users are responsible for verifying meal suggestions.
  • Retailer Pricing: We collect weekly pricing and sales data from local stores (such as Publix and Aldi). We do not guarantee price freshness, stock availability, or store-level BOGO math accuracy. BudgetBites is an independent platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with these retailers.
  • Nutrition Estimates: Nutrient calculations are estimates based on the USDA FoodData Central database. Actual nutritional values may vary based on ingredient brands and preparation methods.

5. Acceptable Use and Abuse

You agree to use BudgetBites for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not scrape data, reverse engineer the application, attempt to bypass resource limits, or use the service to conduct fraudulent activity. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

6. Beta Status

The service is currently offered as a Beta. Features, pricing, and availability are subject to change as we refine the platform. We will provide advance notice of any subscription price modifications.
